Our third in a series of updates from Nick Forsythe’s collection sees images from the beginning of Riccardo's career with Williams in 1987; testing the Williams FW11B and then on his debut in Adelaide for the Australian GP. Riccardo had been racing for Bernie Ecclestone's Brabham team in 1987, but after Nigel Mansell's accident at the previous race in Japan he was called up to race for Williams, and he stayed with them for five years. As he told Nigel Roebuck "It was lucky for me that Bernie and I were friends. When he decided to give up being a team boss in 1987, he recommended me to Frank Williams. When I went to Williams it was like a camera which had finally come into focus."
