In 2013 the Macau Grand Prix celebrated its 60th anniversary. In researching the Grand Prix for various commemorative books and biographies, Philip Newsome has amassed thousands of photographs, many of which have been given to him down the years and many of which he has taken himself. These images vividly chart the way that Macau and its Grand Prix have changed during that time. Only a very small proportion of them have ever appeared in print. This project looks to raise funds to create a digital archive of these images, making them accessible to future generations of motor racing fans, writers and broadcasters.

The limited edition print shown above, signed by World Champion Alan Jones and fellow Formula One star Riccardo Patrese, shows the two coming together in dramatic fashion shortly after the start of the 1977 Macau Grand Prix. Jones retired soon afterwards but Patrese went on to claim an unlikely victory despite considerable damage to his car.
